Contender Analysis

NOWHERE TO HIDE just missed third following a troubled trip in the Risen Star (G3), and the Nick Zito-trained colt will make his second stakes try on Saturday. After dropping his first four career starts, he broke his maiden at Calder in mid-December, and the Risen Star was his first start against winners.
Owned by My Meadowview Farm, Nowhere to Hide is a candidate to keep improving off his encouraging effort in the Risen Star, but he will need a breakout race to become a serious Kentucky Derby (G1) threat. He owns good tactical speed, and we expect him to be close to the early pace.
Pedigree Analysis

Nowhere To Hide. By the promising Vindication who died prematurely having sired just three crops, Nowhere To Hide is out of an unraced mare by Seeking The Gold. His second dam is Daijin who was third in the Test S. (G1) and who is, interestingly, the grand-dam of Patena -- both runners being descended from the very successful broodmare Passing Mood.
